The separately pressed bowl and base of this fruit basket on stand were attached by a wafer of the same opalescent glass:

The top, basket part emerged from its mold with a flat base. However, once attached to the stand and while still hot, the whole assembly was elongated, resulting in a somewhat pointed base to the basket.
